Movers of the Day 24-Aug-2022

Tokens and coins that moved the most in the last 24 hours:

The day’s top movers are Bluzelle and iExec RLC. Decred has surged by 20.00% since 7 pm.

As illustrated by an adjacent chart showing the NWSBCT (Blue Chips) Index movement over the past 24 hours, the crypto markets ended in the green. Since 2 pm, the 2100NEWS DA Indexes, which measure the performance of various groups of tokens and coins, reported gains between 0.49% and 1.41%. Over the past 24 hours, the 2100NEWS Digital Assets Total Index (NWST1100), which measures 1100 significant (by market capitalization) crypto assets’ performance, has risen by 1.10%,  Ether by 1.98%, and Bitcoin by 0.92%.

Decred (DCR)

Decred is a self-funding cryptocurrency with a system of community-based governance integrated into its blockchain. Decred iterates on Bitcoin by employing an innovative hybrid Proof-of-Work (PoW)/Proof-of-Stake (PoS) system and Politeia governance platform to solve the issues of centralization, funding, and governance. In Decred’s hybrid system, PoW acts similarly to Bitcoin, but miners only receive 60% of the block reward. Thirty percent of the Decred block reward goes to PoS voters who quality control the miners’ work, reducing the power of the miners, putting power in the hands of the coin holders, and securing the network. The final 10% of the block reward goes into the Treasury to fund development and operations. The self-funding element ensures that Decred is sustainable over the long term.

In the afternoon, the crypto markets went up significantly. The top movers of the day at 19:10 are iExec RLC and Sperax. Since 2 pm, iExec RLC has surged 13.59%, Sperax 9.49%. Bluzelle is 3.14% higher. Since 2 pm 2100NEWS DA Indexes, which measure the performance of different groups of tokens and coins, have increased up to 1.41%. 2100NEWS Digital Assets Total Index (NWST1100) is 1.32% higher. Bitcoin has increased by 1.26%, Ether 1.71%.

iExec RLC (RLC)

During the same period, the 2100NEWS Digital Assets Total Index (NWST1100), which measures 1100 significant (by market capitalization) crypto assets’ performance, has risen by 0.55% and Ether by 1.97%; Bitcoin is unchanged.

 Helium (HNT)

Launched in July 2019, Helium is a decentralized wireless network that allows low-power smart devices to send and receive data to the internet. Miners earn HNT for providing network coverage and relaying data to the internet using Hotspot hardware.

The crypto markets trended sideways. The day’s top movers (at 9 am) were Newscrypto and Travala.com, soaring 29.63% since midnight. Over the last 24 hours, the 2100NEWS Digital Assets Total Index (NWST1100), which measures 1100 significant (by market capitalization) crypto assets’ performance, has risen by 2.35%,  Ether even 4.17%, and Bitcoin by 1.60%.
